Tubi is my ad of the week

When I first watched the latest Tubi ad, I thought “Oh boy, they’re really laying it on thick here.” It had the stirring music swelling with emotion. It had a warm voiceover talking about how proud they were to offer free streaming to first responders, educators, volunteers building houses – complete with slow-motion hero footage. But then, the twist came. They were also proud to give it free to some of the less savory people in our society, day nappers, couples stealing copper pipes out of walls and kids who skip school and throw rocks at windows. It was a nice twist I didn’t see coming. Granted, I’m a sucker for a good spoof or parody. And this qualifies. Which made it my pick for Ad of the Week.

The production values are well done and the message is clear: Tubi is free for everyone. It doesn’t matter if you’re a good person or a horrible one – or anyone in between – you get Tubi’s streaming service for free. Give Tubi a slow clap with slow motion head nod for this one.
