How to use creativity - look at the opposite POV

What is one way that you can get an advantage over your competition using creativity? I’m gonna tell you, it is for you to look at things from the opposite point of view.

If everyone in your niche is doing the same thing, do the opposite. Find a way to look at things differently and, and really attack it that way. A great example is the nonprofit Water is Life. You know with nonprofits you usually get the sad Sarah McLaughlin music and the sad looking dogs to make you feel empathetic to their thing. Or you’ve got the kids that are with distended bellies and the fly on their face. All these nonprofits that are need support to help people or animals do the same thing. They show the kids or the animals in need, talk about the need and try and get you to empathize with them and donate.

Well, Water is Life did the opposite. They got all these kids in Haiti to talk about how they empathize with you and your first world problems. You know, “oh, you hate it when your phone cord doesn’t reach your bed when you’re trying to power up. Oh, I empathize with you.” So they have all this whole series of kids talking about first world problems and they call it their hashtag killer campaign. They’re trying to kill the hashtag #FirstWorldProblems.

This is a great example of looking at stuff from the opposite point of view. This is the first in my series of how you can use agility and creativity to get an advantage over your competition. I’ll be back with more ways you can use creativity and agility in future posts.

I posted the Water is Life video below so you can watch it. Enjoy!
